This issue’s theme reflects on Visibility. It’s an issue celebrating those who work behind the scenes, spotlighting up and coming creatives and shedding light onto intimate perspectives not always pushed to the forefront. Curating this issue and connecting with others in a time so uncertain has been beautiful and offered new challenges along the way. In this process, I have really valued the interactions and engaging with others in the growing necessity of online communication. It’s been refreshing to see how pulled from an extraordinary and heart-breaking circumstance, each artist has offered and said something that offers hope, inspiration, a moment for reflection or education and a desire to keep pressing on and to put forward conversations and ideas they believe matter.

From talking with Virus: Racism about the effects young Asian people have faced in the wake of Covid-19 and how they’ve translated this into a platform for change, to interviewing KZ Creatives on how dance can communicate ideas  - the stories are broad and diverse, spanning across different countries. These new connections I have been grateful to experience and I’m excited to share these perspectives with you all.

I hope this issue can provide some time for reflection, hope or inspiration or simply offer a moment to pause, take a breath and enjoy engaging with something new.
